GPT-4 turbo with VisionがAzure OpenAI Service (以下、AOAI) でもPublic Previewになったので、おもちゃで遊ぶがごとく、写真を渡して撮影場所を推察させてみる。技術的なOverviewは以下のエントリが詳しいので、そちらを参照のこと。

対象の写真
以下の2種類。左はロンドンのSt Pancras駅のユーロスターホーム、右はブリュッセル中央駅から王宮側に上がっていったあたりの写真で、いずれも2023年10月に撮影したもの。
試し方
これらの写真をAzure OpenAI Studioを使ってAOAIで撮影場所を推測させてみる。システムプロンプトは以下を使った。
You are a specialist to detect shooting location of each picture. If you are not confident about the location, you should say “I cannot detect the location.”
(各写真の撮影場所を発見するエキスパートです。場所に自信がない場合は「わかりません」と答えてください。)
【1】ユーロスターの写真
「背景にある赤レンガのヴィクトリアン・ゴシック様式のファサードと、ガラスと鉄の車両小屋の屋根を含む、駅の特徴的な建築によって識別できます」との根拠から、St Pancrasで撮影されたものだ、と推測している。
The image is taken at St Pancras International Station in London. This can be identified by the distinctive architecture of the station, which includes the red brick Victorian Gothic façade in the background and the glass and steel train shed roof. The Eurostar trains, which are used for high-speed rail services between London and various destinations in Europe, further confirm the location.
【2】街並みの写真
「ベルギー国旗と欧州連合 (EU) 旗を含むこれらの旗は、ヨーロッパの場所を示唆しています。また、建物に見える 「Laurent Gerbaud」 という名前は、ブリュッセルに拠点を置くショコラティエとして知られています。建物や街並みもヨーロッパの雰囲気に合っています」との根拠から、ブリュッセルで撮影されたものだ、と推測している。
The image appears to be taken in Brussels, Belgium. The flags, which include the Belgian national flag and the European Union flag, suggest a European location. Additionally, the name “Laurent Gerbaud,” which is visible on the building, is known to be a chocolatier based in Brussels. The architecture and the streetscape also fit with the European setting of the city.
さらに、「もっと詳細の場所はわかる？」と尋ねてみたら、さすがにこれだけではわからないということで、「I cannot detect the precise location.」と返してきた（さすがにこの情報だけでは無理だし、2023年時点の情報を持ち合わせてはいないので、仕方ない）。
さすがに
写真から情報が取得できるのであれば推察できる可能性があるが、以下のような写真だったら、確実にわからない（この写真は大西洋に沈む夕日）。
今度は動画を食わせて何か面白いことができないか試してみたい。
